From maintaining, inspecting and managing work flow of the United States Marine Corps aviation fleet of C-130s, EA6B and AV8B fixed wing aircraft structural components, I successfully completed my 5 year contract and 3 year reserved.
This experience allowed me to learn and hone manufacturing process techniques, compliance operations, quality control and remedials and workforce management.
Loaded with the knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical skills, I pivoted into the material handling industry as a shop, field technician. In that position, I tested, diagnosed and performed repairs on mechanical, hydraulic and electronic systems to bring mission critical assets back on line. This work would expose me to various technologies such as fuel/emissions controls, AC and DC systems, localized IOT systems and components.
Armed with a Arduino development kit, I pursued amateur IOT and micro controller development. It was through this hobby that I found my fondness with developing code. This naturally turned into self education and formal higher education in pursuit of a major in computer information systems and development. Starting with HTML, CSS and vanilla Javascript, I would begin to learn the basics of web development. I would later expand this self learning into CSS and JS derivatives and CMS development. This work would eventually offer me my first contract job as a DevOps for MustWants.
As a DevOps developer I worked with React, React Native, Next.js, Express environments to develop new user facing features or remediate quality issues and version refactoring. This work has allowed me the opportunity to meet and work with Back end, Design and Testing teams to create a robust and customer centric product. As a start up company the opportunities to develop, revise and plan features was abundant. My out-of-industry experience allowed me to bring a methodical approach to bug fixes, dependency versioning collisions and quality based remedials. currently, my passion is in Web Development. I believe and am working towards building a stronger understanding of the backend development in and out of the JS ecosystem such as GO (Lang).
